Workflow Builder is a visual canvas where you connect the tools you already use, define what should happen when something occurs, and publish. From that point on, it runs on its own, with no engineering time required. If your team's real job has quietly become moving data from one system to another by hand, this takes that off their plate.

How it works

A workflow starts with a trigger: a webhook, a schedule, a form submission, or an event from a connected app. Underneath it, you stack the steps you want to run, sending a message, updating a record, calling an API, or extracting data from a document. There are over 200 integrations to build from, and passing data between steps takes a click, not typed variable names.

The whole workflow renders as a graph you can read in under a minute. Click any step and a panel opens with Setup and Output tabs. Setup flags whether that step is configured correctly, and Output shows what happened when you test it. Run Test, jumps you straight there and shows a "Test Successful" or "Test Failed" badge, along with timing and the input, output, and logs for that run. Open a past run instead, and Setup locks while Output shows exactly what that step saw and returned at the time.

Branches let you split logic by condition, and loops let you repeat a step over a list.

Every run shows up live with a step-by-step breakdown, and if one fails, you can retry from just the step that broke instead of starting the whole thing over. Every time you publish, Workflow Builder saves a version, so rolling back to one that worked takes under a minute. Three permission levels control who can push a change live: read-only, edit, and publish.

A carrier update landing in your inbox, like a BOL or rate confirmation, can trigger a couple of steps that update your shipment record and notify the right person automatically. Nobody on your team has to retype the same numbers across three different systems by hand.

Customs brokers

A commercial invoice or entry summary landing in your workflow can trigger extraction, a check against your compliance rules, and a route to the right person, all before it's ever filed. Set a branch step to send anything with a flagged HS code or declared value to a broker for review, while everything else moves straight through. Since every publish saves a version, you can roll back a rule change fast if it starts flagging entries it shouldn't.
